"Das Leben der Mondsoldaten" (The life of the moon soldiers) – a krautfunding support project for Iron Sky.

The "Schwarze Sonne Chronicles" (SSC) is an unofficial support project of the german radio show “Grenzerfahrungen”. We pursue for a long time with great interest and even greater astonishment the making of the future science fiction-classic Iron Sky. The story of this movie inspired us getting creative. Very fast we decided to develop our own prequel. Since then it was easy to gather tons of material. Despite all efforts to research historical facts one thing was important from the first moment: don’t take ourselves too seriously. We hope you have also a lot of fun reading the stuff as we had writing it. And don’t forget if you look next time towards the moon – the guys up there on the dark side are already very busy!

Release of the Iron Sky Kraut (crowd) funding support project „Das Leben
der Mondsoldaten“

In may is the official release of the Iron Sky support project „Das Leben der Mondsoldaten“.
This project is the world wide first crowd funding project to generate money for the
production of a movie. Eleven phantastic tracks and one great story about the the life of
the soldier on the dark side of the moon.




Fungus Rock explained the idea of the concept:

When we started searching for the “Schwarze Sonne Chronicles“ (SSC) we asked ourselves
two basic questions:
1. What happened before the missiles started in 1945 from Antarctica – and how did it
happen that the Nazis were able to fly to the moon?
2. What happened to the soldiers that after the landing ensure that life on the moon is
made possible?

The first question is answered at the SSC. Part one, the Hubertus Files, are already online.

But what about the “heroes”, that are struggling for daily survival on the moon? The
songs of the moon soldiers are a homage for the heroes of the every day moon life, for
them, no one else reported about. Starting from that idea we developed “Fungus Rock”, a
creative pool, to write down the songs and set them to music. The result should be a part of
the Iron Sky universe and made it available to the director Timo Vuorensola and his team.

The planned album “Das Leben der Mondsoldaten (“The Life of the moon soldiers”) should be
available as download on iTunes Store, Amazon and others.

Iron Sky is a project with a very tight budget. Therefore Timo and his team are dependent
to generate additional money for the productionfrom their fan base

“Das Leben der Mondsoldaten” are our contribution on it!

All in all this project can be called unique, because it shows not only the cult potential of the
movie IRON SKY, but it fulfills also a promise the film itself can´t (or wan´t) fulfill (…)
It takes the strange idea of life on the moon for serious! In this respect this lovely compilation
is not only more homogeneous than LAIBACH´s eclectic soundtrack album, but also more
intensive and stronger. DAS LEBEN DER MONDSOLDATEN is an auditory science fiction epic
between dark beauty, monumentality and irritation.

Insgesamt kann man dieses Projekt als bislang einzigartig bezeichnen, denn es zeugt nicht
nur vom Kultpotential des Films IRON SKY, sondern erfüllt zugleich ein Versprechen, das
der Film selbst gar nicht erfüllt (...)
Er nimmt die irrwitzige Idee vom Leben auf dem Mond ernst! Insofern ist diese liebevolle
Zusammenstellung nicht nur homogener als das eklektizistische Soundtrackalbum von
Laibach, sondern auch intensiver und stärker. DAS LEBEN DER MONDSOLDATEN ist ein
auditives Science-Fiction-Epos zwischen dunkler Schönheit, Monumentalität und Irritation.
